Central York Fire Services – Firefighter Amber Bowman Combat Challenge Champion!

CESTA is happy to announce that Amber Bowman recently returned from Myrtle Beach where she won three championship titles in the World Firefighting Combat Challenge.

We first met FF Bowman when she was just starting her recruit training at Central York Fire Services. We supplied Haix Fire Hunter Xtreme structural firefighting boots to her for her work on the job.

Not long after that, CESTA was asked to support Amber’s bid in anyway we could to help her out in her pursuit of her interest in the Firefighting Combat Challenge Competitions. CESTA donated a pair of zip up Fire Flash Xtreme structural firefighting boots to Amber for her to start training in.

“We are very proud of Amber’s accomplishments”, says Central York Fire Services Chief Ian Laing. “Amber represented our department with pride and regardless of winning or losing she competed with the kind of passion, determination, strength and courage that Central York firefighters must demonstrate every day on the job.”

Amber says “Thanks to my training crew, Jacqueline, Dave, Matt, Scott and Drew. My family and friends were very supportive throughout the whole week, I could not have done it without them. The week went by fast, with a total of 11 races in 6 days I competed in. My mind and body went through a lot of tough times throughout the week but I’m proud to say I did it! Stay active and stay fit!”

Amber you are a really classy act and we are proud to know you and to have been able to support your journey! Good luck in your future competitions!

CESTA is proud to have sponsored other fire department combat challenge teams in Ontario such as Hamilton, Oakville, and Vaughan.
